⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yardie Vibez – Chatham-Kent, Ontario First things first, I happened to be in town for the weekend visiting my brother at his new apartment. While visiting, he mentioned a small restaurant that, in his words, served “the best Jamaican cuisine.” Considering we’re both half Jamaican, I had to give it a try—and I must say, I have no regrets! From the moment we walked in, the service was great . The décor and atmosphere had a chill, relaxed vibe (hence the name, lol). The staff were very welcoming, and the place was spotless from top to bottom. Now, onto the food… my first bite made me feel like I was back on the island of Jamaica itself . I had the jerk chicken and curry goat dinner with rice and peas, plus some side beans that were glazed in a sweet, smoky BBQ sauce. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavour—the spice was on point, and that smokiness in the jerk chicken hit with pure nostalgia. My favourite part of the meal, though, was the crispy yet flaky spicy beef patty stuffed with oxtail and mac & cheese . That right there… love at first bite. The juiciness of the oxtail combined with the creamy, cheesy mac & cheese was absolute perfection Before I left, I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and made sure to let them know how mouthwatering their food was. Overall, this place was amazing, and the only downside I can think of is that I live over two hours away. Looks like my brother will be seeing me visit more often in the near future! If you’re ever in Chatham-Kent, Yardie Vibez is a must-try. Highly recommend — 5/5! ????????

This place is an absolute GEM to have locally! The owner is obviously passionate, we see it every time we come in and get to chat with him. Hands down the best Caribbean food in Chatham- Kent area. We often have a Lenten requirement when eating, and this place is amazing because it can accommodate either a vegan menu or some amazing meats. Vegan: there is a fantastic Ital meal that comes with excellently spiced veggies, rice; and your choice of other side like beans. The plantain is always fried to perfection. VERY filling plate for a fair price. Meat: the meat selection is really solid. The protein gets marinated for days at a time so the flavour is deep inside, then smoked on the bbq for amazing flavours. The jerk pork is my favorite, and the oxtail is also amazing. Everyone we get a chance to chat with the owner he’s dropping knowledge on us or having us try something new he’s working on. It’s exactly what you want an authentic restaurant to be, a journey through a culture with flavors. We love coming here and can’t wait to keep trying more of the menu. Don’t forget to grab a juice on the way out, they are so good for you

Absolutely incredible meals, generous portions, fair prices, and friendly service. We ordered takeout for dinner —curry goat, jerk chicken, curry meat loaf and Mac pie. Everything was ridiculously flavourful, from the sides, to the peas and rice. I cannot wait to try other dishes on the menus. Chatham is very lucky!

Was willing to write this review on the first bite. Will be coming back for sure. First time here got the traditional jerk pork and loved it. Very filling and I liked the rice included (not usually a fan of rice). The staff there was very friendly knowing it was our first time there talked to us for a bit and we learned more about what they have and make on their menu

Tried the Fried Chicken- WOW! That breading and the way it holds is amazing! Also- so perfectly seasoned. Grease was so clean I could taste every flavour! Highly enjoyed. My guy tried the jerk chicken and ox tail. All he said was” yep” and kept eating. Rice and beans- so good! I know it’s just rice and beans but not these- they were so good! Don’t know what you did to them. The baked beans were also a hit! So good all around. If we could leave a 10* we would!

Everytime I visit Canada I **HAVE** to come here, I live in the states and this is by far my favorite Jamaican food ever. The oxtail with rice n peas + steamed veg is my favorite Tried the loaded patty today and it’s too good. The woman at the counter makes the experience that much better with her fantastic personality and customer skills. If you ever get a chance. Try the food, have a redstripe and enjoy your time.
